Dunoon's Queen’s Hall  formerly known as the New Pavilion was opened  in 1958 as the civic centre. It has a prominent setting within the town, on the northern edge of the beautiful Castle Gardens and facing out over the Firth of Clyde.  The Variety Agency Chalmers Wood produced many of the shows with star appearances by Robert Wilson, Irish singing star Eileen Keegan, Clark & Murray, Dave Willis, Roma Derry , Tony Melody, Billy Crotchet and many others.
